BHR Accelerator – 2nd Local Session

On March 20, the UN Global Compact Network Georgia hosted the second local session of the Business and Human Rights Accelerator, which focused on identifying Potential Impacts on Human Rights.
During the meeting, participants were provided with information on the first stage of the human rights due diligence process, which involves companies assessing human rights-related risks. Discussions centered on how companies should assess risks related to human rights and which areas require particular attention. Additionally, participants received guidance on why and how businesses should identify sectors where the risk of negative impacts on human rights is highest.
The session also included a practical exercise, where participants reviewed a hypothetical case and identified potential risks. The methodology used in this process supports companies in implementing human rights principles and managing risks effectively.
The Business & Human Rights Accelerator is a program tailored for companies that are members of the UN Global Compact. Its goal is to equip companies with the knowledge and skills required to assess their impact on human rights, implement human rights due diligence, and effectively communicate the outcomes of their efforts to relevant stakeholders. The Business & Human Rights program has been running in Georgia for the third consecutive year, with active participation from companies that are members of the UN Global Compact Network Georgia.
