Circular Economy Action Platform: Pack it Forward

Within the framework of the UN Global Compact Network Georgia`s Circular Economy Action Platform, a meeting was held on September 19 on the topic “Pack it Forward.”

The meeting focused on strategies for developing sustainable packaging practices in Georgia, with special attention to the challenges and opportunities across different sectors.

Presentations were delivered by the Executive Director of the Retail Association, Sophie Kashakashvili, and the FSMS Manager of Georgian Packaging, Tamuna Ghonghadze. During the meeting, packaging strategies, waste management issues, and the role of private sector engagement in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals—especially SDG 12—were discussed.

Participants had the opportunity to share practical examples, innovative solutions, and successful initiatives that contribute to recycling, waste reduction, and strengthening the circular economy—thus increasing resource efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
