UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2016
On June 22-23 Salome Zurabishvili, CSR Manager of CiDA and contact person of UN Global Compact local network, and , CEO of Adjara Group Hospitality, Valeri Chekheria took part in UN Global Compact Leaders Summit and in A Night of Pioneers: Leaders Dinner.
Leaders Summit was held in New York at UN Headquarters and it was opened by Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon. About 1000 global business representatives and UN Global Compact local network representatives attended the summit.
The summit provided a dynamic stage to jump-start business action everywhere on the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the Summit, the journey ahead to turn global goals into local business was outlined, and leaders jointly identified opportunities for action and innovation around the SDGs.
On June 22 Georgian participants Salome Zurabishvili and Valeri Chekheria met with Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN Kakha Imnadze. They discussed future cooperation opportunities in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility in Georgia.
Zurabishvili also attended the closing meeting organized by the UN Global Compact with 33 representatives of other countries. The aim of the meeting was to summarize the conference, share opinions and set future goals and plans.
