Transformational Governance Action Platform: Transformational Governance – Beyond Commitment, Acting According to Standards
On 21 October, the UN Global Compact Network Georgia organized a meeting of the Transformational Governance Action Platform on the theme Transformational Governance: Beyond Commitment, Acting According to Standards.
During the event, speakers discussed the holistic approach of transformational governance, which encompasses environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. Presentations were delivered by Ana Osadze, Head of Sustainability and ESG at Bank of Georgia; Ia Mameishvili, Head of Ethics and Compliance at Selfie; and Iza Gotsadze, Head of Strategic Communications at Adjaristsqali Georgia and a member of the UN Global Compact Network Georgia Board.
The meeting explored the concept of transformational governance, its connection to Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and its distinction from traditional corporate governance models. The Georgian-language version of the UN Global Compact’s Transformational Governance Assessment Tool was also presented.
Participating companies received practical recommendations on integrating transformational governance principles into their operations – including governance processes, ethics, transparency, and accountability.
