GREDA

Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association: GREDA is a United Nations Global Compact member. GREDA, founded in 2017, currently includes around 40 members – companies that are developers and owners of renewable energy plants.

The organization aims to promote renewable energy projects in Georgia, improve the investment environment, improve the legal framework, and raise awareness of renewable energy in society.

The association actively cooperates with private and public sectors, financial institutes, and international organizations to achieve the mentioned goals.

“Providing affordable and clean energy is one of the goals of sustainable development of the United Nations. GREDA serves the same purpose – we promote the full utilization of renewable energy resources in Georgia. This will contribute not only to sustainable development but also to economic growth and at the same time will strengthen the country’s energy security.”

The company is building a multi-apartment residential building in Old Tbilisi. The uniqueness of the project lies in the following:

  • 1. Solar panels are installed on every building, and residents are consuming the free electricity 
  • 2. Solar panels are installed on the house, and residents enjoy free electricity;
  • 3. Project follows the BREEAM standards, the highest real estate certificate in the EU. 
  • 4. this is the first building in the Caucus regions where the intelligent system and the initial stage of artificial intelligence will be implemented. The project is entirely oriented toward the green economy.
