International Conference for Lawyers

Salome Zurabishvili, the Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Georgia, participated in an international conference for lawyers. The event, focusing on the theme of business and human rights, was organized by the Georgian Bar Association in collaboration with the European Bar Association and with support from the UN Global Compact Network Georgia.

During a dedicated session at the conference, Salome Zurabishvili addressed international standards pertaining to business and human rights. This marked the first time that an international conference on the topic was held in Georgia. Its primary objective was to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences among lawyers from different countries in this field and to promote European and international standards.

The conference drew participation from representatives of bar associations in ten countries, including key figures from the European Council of Bar Associations and Law Society (CCBE) and the European Bar Association (AEA-EAL).

Supporters of the conference were the USAID Rule of Law Program, the UN Global Compact Network Georgia, the Council of Europe, the American Solidarity Center, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
