Media for Responsible Business

On June 9-10, UN Global Compact Network Georgia held a workshop “Media for Responsible Business” for national and regional media representatives in Batumi. Within the framework of the workshop, the Executive Director of the network, Salome Zurabishvili, spoke to media representatives about the mandate and activities of the UN Global Compact Network Georgia, as well as corporate sustainability communication in Georgia.

Iza Gotsadze – Head of Strategic Communications at “Adjaristsqali Georgia” and Nana Berdzenishvili – Head of environmental protection and social issues of “Caucasus Renewable Energy Holding”, emphasized the importance of media in the development of corporate sustainability in the country. A discussion was also held.

Zurab Lalazashvili, Board member of UN Global Compact Network Georgia and managing partner at BDO Georgia, shared BDO`s experience on corporate sustainability.

Maka Bochorishvili, Environmental, Social and Governance Coordinator at TBC Bank, spoke about the perspective of the private sector.

At the workshop, attention was focused on the Corporate Sustainability Award competition and the media competition – “Media for responsible business in Georgia”, the winners of which, traditionally, will be announced in October. The event was held with the support of the Swedish Government.
