companies. The association currently has 25 members. The members of the association recycle the following types of waste: paper, plastic, polyethylene bottles, glass, aluminum jars, tires, wood waste, used edible oils, electrical and electronic waste, hazardous waste.

Priorities:

Under the Quality Education goal, the important issues are raising awareness on waste management; professional education. In terms of industry, innovation, and infrastructure, it is important to introduce modern technologies, set up waste processing enterprises, and arrange waste collection systems. To achieve the goal – Partnership for Sustainable Development it is essential to promoting private-public cooperation. It is necessary to involve private businesses and have taken more effective steps by the public sector.

The mission of the Georgian Waste Management Association (GWMA) is to develop the waste management sector and promote the introduction of modern principles of waste management in the country.
