A Public-Private Dialogue Platform Sustainability Model Discussion Took Place for the Staff of the Parliament of Georgia

On December 21-22, a public-private dialogue platform sustainability model discussion took place for the staff of the Parliament of Georgia. The USAID Economic Governance Program supported the event, which was organized by the UN Global Compact Network and the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

During the external meeting, a guide for public-private dialogue was presented. The guide, developed by the UN Global Compact Network Georgia in collaboration with the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, received support from the USAID Economic Governance Program.

The guide’s purpose is to assist parliament and office staff members in successfully conducting public-private dialogue and ensuring the effective involvement of the private sector. Discussions also covered mechanisms for ensuring the sustainability of the public-private dialogue platform from the perspective of the Parliament of Georgia. During the meeting, representatives of the Investors Council, the Business Association of Georgia, and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency provided insights into the private sector’s perspective.

The discussion involved representatives from 14 parliamentary committees and the office of the chairman of the parliament.

The grant activity, ‘Promote Capacity Building and Enhance Sustainability of the PPD Platform in the Parliament of Georgia,’ is implemented by the UN Global Compact Network Georgia with the support of the USAID Economic Governance Program. The grant activity aims to develop a sustainable, self-reliant Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) Platform in the Parliament of Georgia, facilitating effective and continuous dialogue between the Parliament and private sector actors on economic reforms and policy issues.
