Meeting with Budget and Finance Committee of Parliament

On May 10, UN Global Compact Network Georgia and the Budget and Finance Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, with support of the USAID Economic Governance Program, and in partnership with The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the National Bank of Georgia hold a Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) to discuss the Securitization draft law under the PPD Platform in the Parliament.


The main aim of the PPD was to discuss the draft law on Securitization together with Members of the Parliament, Government, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, National Bank of Georgia and the private sector.
During the PPD parties discussed institutional framework of the Draft Law: General overview, new procedures, instruments, key aspects and cost benefit analysis.


Tamta Ivanishvili Expert of UN Global Compact Network Georgia presented legislation communication paper on Securitization. The paper was developed in cooperation with the USAID Economic Government Program, the Budget and Finance Committee, National Bank of Georgia and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed ongoing activities to facilitate dialogue between the Parliament and the private sector on selected economic reforms and promote the establishment of a sustainable PPD platform in Parliament.


The PPD was held under the USAID Economic Governance Program’s grant activity, “Promote capacity building and enhance the sustainability of the PPD Platform in the Parliament of Georgia,” implemented by the UN Global Compact Network Georgia in partnership with the Parliament of Georgia.
