UNCAC COSP – 10th Session

Rati Zautashvili, Senior Manager, Business Relations of UN GCNG, attended the Private Sector Forum co-organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact) on the margins of the tenth session of the Conference of the States Parties (CoSP) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) from 11 to 12 December 2023, in Atlanta, United States of America.

The Private Sector Forum brings together a global audience of relevant stakeholders from the business community, the public sector, civil society, academia, and international organizations with the collective aim of strengthening business integrity.

Within the framework of the forum, during the meetings held by the representative of the UNGCNG, the active involvement of private sector representatives in anti-corruption practices were discussed.

At the Private Sector Forum, participants took stock of milestones achieved since the adoption of the UN Convention against Corruption and Principle Ten of the UN Global Compact, and examine their relevance today; Explored how to leverage further the Collective Action approach to drive impact across the 2030 Agenda and strengthen the ecosystem in which companies operate; Determined effective measures States can adopt to incentivize compliance, while ensuring misconduct is sanctioned, and how the private sector can contribute to this endeavour.

Sanda Ojiambo, CEO of UN Global Compact delivered the closing remarks. She presented Anti-Corruption Call-to-Action results from 16 countries, including Georgia: 500 businesses appealed to Governments to intensify governance and anti-corruption efforts.
