Union “Safar” was founded in 2001. The organization works on all issues related to women’s rights, and is also actively involved in legislative, advocacy and lobbying activities. Safar’s mission is to create an equal, non-discriminatory and non-violent environment.

The goals of the organization are:

• Combating discrimination and violence, achieving women’s emancipation and far-reaching equality;
• Providing legal and psychological assistance to victims of various types of violence, including domestic violence, sexual violence;
• In order to empower women, initiate legislative changes, support new bills;
• Women economic and social empowerment
• Advocating and protecting the rights of vulnerable groups, including women, children, ethnic minorities and LGBTQ persons, lobbying their interests through cooperation with policy-making state institutions;
• Rising awareness about the domestic violence and gender equality
• Cooperation with international and national organizations working on discrimination and violence related issues
