GCNG Executive Director was elected as Chair of the Regional Network Council for Eastern Europe and Central Asia

At Expo 2020 Salome Zurabishvili, executive director of GCNG, has been elected as Chair of the Regional Network Council for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and as a Member of the Global Network Council at the United Nations Global Compact for a two-year term.

Her area of competence will cover Consultations with Regional Network Council (RNC) for Eastern Europe (EE) and Central Asia members regularly to ensure their voices are being channelled to the Global Compact Office and Global Network Council. Also, Salome Zurabishvili will Join the Global Network Council of the UN Global Compact representing the EE RNC views, and Provide input and recommendations to the UN Global Compact Executive Director on Strategic Matters, including programmatic priorities, growth strategies and collaboration with Governments and UN System at the country level and will Co-facilitate alongside with the Regional Manager to develop the RNC workplace and review the progress made.
