CiDA becomes the Secretariat of the Emerging Global Compact Network Georgia

The formal agreement was signed by the Civil Development Agency (CiDA) and the United Nations Global Compact on February 12. According to the agreement CIDA became the secretariat of the Emerging Global Compact Network which is the recently established network of the United Nations Global Compact. The manager of corporate social responsibility of CiDA Salome Zurabishvili became the contact person of the network.
In the framework of the conference on corporate social responsibility in April 2016, it is planned to go from initial phase to active phase of the recently established network of Global Compact Georgia and sign the memorandum with the Global Compact.

CIDA became a member of the UN Global Compact on August 12, 2015. Global Compact is one of the bodies of the United Nations. This is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, where more than 8000 business companies are affiliated from the world’s 161 countries and 4,000 non-profit entities. The work of the Global Compact is centred on ten internationally agreed principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental sustainability and anti-corruption.

The negotiations with Global Network about the foundation of local network has been in process since August, 2015.
